6 Week Kundalini Beginners Yoga Series

Most people regularly tune-up their cars for peak performance and long life. Not so with their own physical body. We forget that our own bodies need the same devoted attention and maintenance to give us the energy and well being necessary for living a full and happy life. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient science with the technology to maintain and tune up the human body so that it can achieve peak performance at every age and stage of life.

You don’t need to have a flexible body or a quiet mind to begin—you just need to show up!

This six-week class is an introduction to the practice of Kundalini yoga, and is appropriate for all levels, from first-timers through intermediate/advanced practitioners. All are welcome! The class will provide a safe, fun and engaging learning environment. Students will learn and demystify all things including proper breathing techniques, fundamental yoga poses, and methods for relaxation. This series is taught in a sequential manner to help students build confidence, strength and flexibility.

ADDITIONAL COURSE INFORMATION:
Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of awareness is a Raj Yoga (encompassing all eight limbs of yoga) into a single practice and is considered the most comprehensive of yogic traditions.
All forms of yoga are intended to raise the kundalini energy. The technology of Kundalini Yoga carefully orchestrates asanas, pranayama, meditation, mudra, and dristi (focus) in exacting sequences and times (known as kriyas) to accelerate the desired effects on the body, mind and Consciousness.

Each week we will work with pranayama (breath), asana (postures) and alignment for safety. We will also engage in meditation and mindfulness techniques to release and alleviate stress in our lives! See topics below:

February 5, 2018 - The Breath of Life. This set is a great tune up for the whole body. It focuses on various proper breathing exercises and techniques for yoga and relaxation.

February 12, 2018 - Mindfulness. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress levels and is a practice that is about paying attention to your experience of focusing within the present time. We will utilize yoga postures to become more mindful and to release any inner anger that may be blocking you from having a relationship with your self.

February 19, 2018- Our Bodies & Disease Resistance. To avoid colds and illness, it is essential to keep digestion and elimination functioning well. This set provides physical strength and builds disease resistance.

February 26, 2018 - Energize Your Entire System . This set energizes the heart/stomach/liver and adjusts the spine and purifies the blood.

March 1, 2018 - Our Bodies & The Circulatory System. This set is an excellent and fun set for increasing the circulation of your whole body.

March 12, 2018 - Our Bodies & Stress (Adrenals & Kidneys). Our energy can be flowing, we can be eating well, and sleeping enough, but without strong adrenals and kidneys heart cant function well. This set is perfect to work on adrenals and kidneys.

INSTRUCTOR: Kahlil Kuykendall has been practicing both Hatha & Kundalini yoga for more than 20 years and is a certified 500 hr. ERYT through Yoga Alliance. Since the first time she stepped into a yoga class, the practice has woven threads of inner strength, peace, and compassion into her life. See you on the mat!
