The Future with Hope Women's Conference is an opportunity for Catholic women over 40 to connect with each other and the Lord. We do this with excellent speakers; small group discussions; and exhibitors who provide information about potential ministries.
We open Friday night with heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages, an icebreaker, and two speakers. Saturday will feature an opportunity for confession, Mass, three speakers, a spiritual treasure hunt, a small-group discussion time, breakfast and lunch, and an opportunity for some down time for a visit to the adoration chapel if desired, or time with exhibitors.
The 2018 speakers:
Mary Elizabeth Sperry, author of Making Room for God: Decluttering and the Spiritual Life: "Getting Rid of the Stuff We Don't Need Post-40"
Alejandra Segura, advocate for women's and children's rights, and activist for a culture of life and social and economic rights for children in Africa and Latin America: "What Is Your Fiat? Saying Yes to the Lord Post-40"
Maria Suarez Hamm, longtime executive director of Centro Tepeyac Women's Center and a past Archdiocese of Washington director of Hispanic Life and Leadership Development: "Growing in Faith and Years"
Anthony DeCristofaro, Catholic blogger: "Pity, Piety, and the Pieta: A Look at Duty, Obligation, and Love"
Erin Benbennick, who's spun yarns for decades at campfires; her sons' and grandsons' bedsides; and local, state, and international speaking and storytelling events.: "A Tangled Skein" Witness
Please note that last year, we sold out at 115 women. While this year's venue has more space, we encourage you to register early to save your spot (and save money!). Through Labor Day, the ticket price is $159. If any tickets remain at that time, the rate will rise to $175.
We have arranged for a limited number of rooms at a special rate of $129 at the nearby Hilton Arlington Towers, located just above the Ballston Metro station (Orange/Silver Lines). The group code is FWH and you may book directly through this link. Reservations must be made by September 12. Transportation to and from St. Agnes will be arranged if your request is made in advance with [email protected].
Please note: We are unable to provide refunds. However, you may be able to resell your ticket via our Facebook page if you will be unable to use it.
Register early... and come join us!
The conference is sponsored by the Arlington Diocese Council of Catholic Women and Joyful Spirit Gifts.
Will there be Mass?
Yes! We will have Mass with the St. Agnes community at 9 a.m. Saturday. Attendees also are encouraged to receive the sacrament of penance and reconciliation from 8 to 9 a.m. (the conference will provide additional priests in addition to the two St. Agnes typically schedules). In addition, for those who would like contemplation rather than small group discussion on Saturday, the parish adoration chapel is located upstairs from the conference venue.
You also are welcome to join the St. Agnes community at the Vigil Mass at 5 p.m. on Saturday after the conference concludes.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Free parking is available at St. Agnes. For those who take Metro, transportation can be arranged from the Ballston station if you let us know in advance. Please email us at [email protected].
Can I mail a check instead of using a credit card?
Yes. When you check out, under Payment, use the dropdown box to indicate pay by check. Checks then can be mailed to Future with Hope Women’s Conference, 4201 Wilson Blvd. #110328, Arlington, VA 22203. If you prefer to register offline, please email us at [email protected].
Is there a group rate?
Yes! Groups of six who pay by check are eligible for a reduced rate. For details, please email us at [email protected].
Can I get a refund if I don’t attend?
We are unable to offer refunds, though you are welcome to sell your ticket to someone else. You may be able to do so via a post on our Facebook page.
Can I just come Saturday/just come for a particular speaker/just come look around?
The Future with Hope women’s conference is an opportunity to build community and learn more about the options ahead for you, and we believe that is best experienced by attending the entire conference. You may decide to attend only parts of the event, but the fee will not be pro-rated.
Is financial assistance available?
We’d be happy to talk with your pastor about subsidizing a reduced rate for your parish, as some have done in the past. Please contact us for more details.
What about diet restrictions/physical and other accommodations?
We’re here to serve and will contact registrants about accommodations a couple weeks before the conference. Or, if you prefer, contact us now with more details.
I have a question that’s not addressed here. Help!
Sure thing! Please contact us.
