On average, 115 Americans die each day from opioid overdose. As a result of drastically higher prescription rates and a sharp increase in overdose deaths since the early 2000s, opioid abuse is deemed a national emergency. The opioid crisis is a complex social challenge for which there is no single cause or solution; however, the opportunity exists for blockchain technology to create solutions to this rising epidemic.
